Vivino. The Hungarian market, and a lot more
In 2014, I moved from Poland to Hungary.
I started to study:
- German, I passed TELC B1 and B2
- French, I studied for C1 DELF
- Nail technician, I passed it
- Accounting, I made it halfway
I also got involved in AEGEE, the Engineering student association, again. I was an active participant in the Polish one in 2011.
I also started a blog about wine tasting and wine knowledge. Linda Wine Reviews: it was a blog, plus YouTube, and Vivino.
I also took WSET education in Divino, Budapest, next to the Basilica.
Our educator was pregnant at that time.
At that time Vivino app was new in Hungary.
There were only 250.000 users. I registered and started to go to a wine tasting. I had to pay for every wine! I was active on social media, on the app, and in real life as well.
In three months, I was in the top 3 users.
It was a big stress for the other users, as they hated that I was so successful...
This hate came back in real life as well...
Nah.. that is their problem, that they hated me...
I worked really hard to promote Hungarian wines abroad. I created wine and food pairing pages as well.
Plus a lot of presentations.
When I came to Denmark, in the first week, I applied for a job at Vivino, as it is originally a Danish company.
I was not hired. I got an interview. I got rejected... and I tried a few more times to apply again, but I was always rejected.
What to say... What to say... being in the top 3 on the ranking, having 10 harvest experience, having a lot of winemakers in my network... all these were not enough good to be hired at Vivino...
That is also the life of a winemaker...
Are you jealous???
PS. Nobody, not even one winery, paid me for the hard work I did....
I did all the job as I believed that the Hungarian wines are good....
When did you do anything similar in your life????
Are you jealous???
Are you jealous???
Are you jealous???
Be a winemaker!
